CHIMNEY BLOCKAGE

 

If your CHIMNEY has a blockage no air will rise up the chimney because the flue is blocked, exposing yourself to possible carbon monoxide poisoning and putting your home at risk of a puff back or worse a fire

 

A chimney blockage can occur for several reasons, here are a few:

 

1. NO CHIMNEY CAP (debris have enter the flue because there is no chimney cap. A new chimney cap should be installed)

 

2. CLAY FLUE LINING IS DETERIORATING/BROKEN (a new stainless steel chimney liner should be installed)

 

3. OIL FIRED BOILER IS RUNNING RICH AND A CREOSOTE BUILD UP HAS OCCURRED (chimney should be swept)
